The Specialist Group in Applied Geochemical (SGAG) within the GSA was constituted to provide a national focus for promoting interest and excellence in the use of geochemistry.

The formation of SGAG serves to disseminate information under the GSA umbrella, facilitating communication and helping to ensure that current            technological trends in geochemistry are broadcast widely. SGAG also aims to stimulate research, development and training in geochemistry.

SGAG aims to encourage and promote the practical application of geochemistry by:

• Providing information on analytical methods and the use of sound interpretation techniques involving geochemical data and the influence of the regolith.

• Holding meetings at which presentations are given on various aspects                of geochemistry, and
